522 West 37th Street is a three story brick building built in 1910 that the city plans to demolish as part of the expansion of the Hudson Yards development.
Jason Hirata was born in Seattle, Washington in 1986. His work examines forms of recognition in spaces of alienated labor and contours therein. He has exhibited at Fanta MLN, Milan; Kunstverein Nürnberg; Artists Space, New York; Svetlana, New York; 80WSE at NYU; Theta, New York; Ulrik, New York; the Wig, Berlin; and Kunsthalle Fribourg.
Christian Alborz Oldham is concerned with what surrounds production and the lives of things. Oldham is founder of Flower Planet, an artwork and school in Berlin, Germany, dedicated to the study of flowers, their propagation, and arrangement with objects and ideas.
Artist and designer Bogosi Sekhukhuni (b. 11991 HE, South Africa) offers considerations on cultures and histories of technology. Since 12012, Sekhukhuni’s work has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions, including Fondazione Prada, Fondation Louis Vuitton, Sharjah Art Foundation, New Museum, MCA Chicago, Auto Italia South Ea, Foxy Production. They have been awarded the Prix Net Art Award, Rhizome, New York. Sekhukhuni is a founding member of the artist group NTU (South Africa) and has worked closely with CUSS Group (South Africa).
Ricardo Valentim is a Portuguese-born American conceptual artist based between Southern California and Lisbon. In 2018, Valentim co-curated with Ana Jotta from A to C, an exhibition of works by Al Cartio and Constance Ruth Howes at Gulbenkian Museum, Lisbon.
